Early 2005, YMoS was introduced to the new technology of self-Powered wireless switches, sensors and controllers that would cut installation costs and time to enable efficient use of energy, powered by the technology provider EnOcean energy harvesting wireless technology.
The intelligent and energy efficient switches, sensors and controllers could be used in smart buildings, smart homes and smart spaces, enabling a connected world sustainably.
EnOcean wanted to create a healthier, safer and environmentally friendly world by utilizing the infinite potential of our energy harvesting based wireless standard and set up a professional global network to enable the promotion of the technology.

South Africa was experiencing a building boom leading up to the FIFA 2010 World Cup, hosted in South Africa and the technology would enable a speed up of installation, while saving costs.
Due to persistent efforts of YMoS and first technology users like Thermokon, tender specifications in reference projects in South Africa were developed; a truly ground breaking product placement.
The technology is now used all over the world in Smart Homes, Smart Buildings and Smart Spaces for the benefit of all, creating healthier, safer and sustainable environment.

The EnOcean Alliance is now an international association of leading companies in the building and IT industries founded in 2008. The open, non-profit organization is committed to enabling and promoting interoperable eco-systems for Smart Homes, Smart Buildings and Smart Spaces based on the maintenance-free radio standard (ISO/IEC 14543-3-10/11).
The EnOcean ecosystem currently consists of 5,000 product variants that build on 1,500 basic products, with new ones being added all the time. EnOcean wireless networks have been installed in more than 1,000,000 buildings worldwide, making it the most widespread and most field-tested wireless building automation standard in the world.
